Today marks the start of something new, an effort to self organize a community, by the community. Our efforts are to contribute in a meaningful way, upstream, and by our own community maintained projects. Most importantly, our shared goal is to create a platform for free, and efficient collaboration under community governance.
The time is approaching for a turn into profitability as any business must do to survive during, and past the startup phase. Runways are short, tensions can be high, changes are often implemented quickly in the struggle for relevance and success.
I personally believe that it is important to streamline to ease accessibility. Consumer sentiment is vital when bringing a new product to the marketplace. However, such efforts should be carefully considered as to not alienate the existing enthusiast community, especially when such a community is relied upon to help build and enhance the product.
